The Wrexham-born defender started his career at The New Saints before spending time at Altrincham, Barrow and more recently Chester.

During his time at Barrow, Jones made 54 appearances, scoring three times - this spell was sandwiched by two spells at Altrincham in the National League which saw Jones make over 185 appearances for The Robins.
