Horan returned to the Deeside Stadium in 2014, having left in 2005 to join Rhyl where he played until 2010 before moving on to Chester FC where he was the club captain, making 138 appearances for the newly formed club following the demise of Chester City.
Horan played over 140 games for The Nomads in his first spell with the club which spanned five years starting in 2000. Following his departure to Rhyl in 2005, Horan was named in the Welsh Premier League team of the season for four consecutive seasons from 2006 to 2009.
The 2015-16 season saw Horan lead The Nomads to UEFA Europa League qualification for the first time in the Club's history..
Horan's 2016-17 season was hampered by an ankle injury, meaning he would miss a good portion of the season, however upon his return to the side, Horan scored a hat-trick against Airbus and ended the season on 14 starts and 4 goals. His performances upon his return saw him voted into the Welsh Premier League Team of the Season for the campaign and was also awarded Supporter's Player of the Season at The Nomads' end of season awards.
The 2017/18 campaign saw Horan notch another four goals as he captained the side to our first ever JD Welsh Cup victory.
The following season saw Horan lead the side to not only the JD Welsh Cup Final for a second successive season, but also to the Scottish Challenge Cup Final against Ross County - both finals unfortunately ended in defeat for The Nomads, but the following season would be a season full of success as Horan captained the side to the Nathaniel MG Cup and JD Cymru Premier domestic double.
