Nomads Women set for Deeside Stadium return

Connah’s Quay Nomads Women will return to Deeside Stadium this Sunday for their Genero Adran North clash with NFA Women.

Jordan Parry’s side will return to the storied stage with their eyes set on regaining top spot following Llandudno’s 7-2 victory over Y Felinheli on Wednesday night.

Form
The Nomads Women faced NFA last weekend in the NEWFA Cup Quarter Final and despite a tight first half, The Nomads were inspired by Phoebe Ellis’ four goal haul as the girls came out 5-1 victors and now await their semi final opponents. Further details for that match will be announced soon.

The Nomads Women have begun the Genero Adran North campaign in the best way possible, picking up maximum points from their first four games with their most recent victory coming against Llandudno thanks to goals from Phoebe Ellis and Shannon Hobbs.

Ellis and Hobbs have been on fire for The Nomads recently, recording a combined 40 goal contributions in all competitions already this season. There have also been some faces out on the pitch for Nomads Women as a recent 16th birthday for Mae Hodgers means the defender can now play in senior Adran Leagues competition for the club. Hodgers saw out a tense final 20 minutes against Llandudno and played the full 90 minutes in our 5-1 win over NFA last Sunday. The Nomads were happy to see the recent return of defender Llinos Hughes after some time out of the squad due to personal reasons.

The Nomads Women also found out their opponents for the Genero Adran Trophy knockout stage last week. Adran Premier side Aberystwyth Town Women will make the trip up to Deeside Stadium on Sunday 3rd December in what will be another tough test for The Nomads Women.

Match Details
Our first match back at Deeside Stadium will kick off at 2:00pm on Sunday 19th November and the man in the middle will be Andrew Higgins, who last refereed a Nomads game in January 2023 when the girls defeated Airbus 10-0 away from home, a game which saw former Nomads captain Kirstie Kural score a staggering six goals.

You will be able to see all of the girls in action across the weekend and before Sunday’s clash with NFA, our Women’s U19s take centre stage at The Poppies 3G on Friday Night as they take on The New Saints. The Nomads prevailed against Saints in their last outing with Alisha Wright’s hat-trick and Phoebe Ellis’ brace securing a 5-0 win which sent Nomads to the top of the Adran North U19s table.

There is a £3 entry fee for both fixtures and there will be a variety of snacks and drinks available inside our clubhouse, located near the entrance to our Poppies 3G. Come on down and show your support for the girls as we look to top both tables!

Media Coverage
We will provide live match updates across our Twitter page for Friday’s Women’s U19s game. As for Sunday’s Genero Adran North Fixture, we will give everyone an update at half time and full time of how the girls got on due to our Men’s First Team facing Haverfordwest County in a rare Sunday fixture in the JD Cymru Premier.
