Williams to Join Tranmere

Connah's Quay Nomads can today confirm a deal has been agreed which will see Josh Williams join EFL League Two side, Tranmere Rovers.

Josh joined The Nomads in the U8 age group and progressed through the ranks right through to our first team.

Josh stood out for the Academy during the 2022 season in which the U21 team won the JD Cymru Premier Development North title, narrowly missing on the national title in the final on penalties.

Josh would be named as captain for the Welsh Schools team in 2022 as they would go on to win the Centenary Shield for the first time in over 40 years, with Williams bagging a hat-trick against England en route to the win.

Josh would also be a part of The Nomads team that won the JD Welsh Cup in 2024, as he scored a spectacular winning goal which was voted as the Goal of the Month for April by Sgorio.

Everyone at Connah's Quay Nomads would like to wish Josh all the best for his future in the world of football having racked up an impressive 47 starts and 22 substitute appearance including six goals during his time with the first team despite not turning 20 until mid-July.
